Brisbane Handyman Services — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Brisbane Handyman Services collects, why, how it's stored, and how it's protected. By using the platform — as a homeowner or a tradie — you agree to this policy. We're matchmakers, not providers, and this policy reflects that limited role: most of what we collect exists only to connect a job with the right local tradie.
1. Information We Collect
- Name, phone number, and email address
- Suburb, postcode, and job location
- Job request details — the type of work, timing, and description
- For tradies: ABN, business details, trade, and service area
- Basic device and browser data for site performance
2. How We Use Your Information
- To match a job request with a suitable, registered tradie
- To send SMS and email notifications about a job or a lead
- To verify a tradie's ABN against the Australian Business Register
- To look into a complaint or dispute, and to keep accurate records
3. How We Share Your Information
A homeowner's job details are sent by SMS to one matched tradie at a time — never broadcast to a group of competing tradies. Once a tradie accepts, that tradie alone receives the homeowner's contact details for that job.
We use the following third parties to help run the platform, each permitted to use your data only for that purpose: Twilio, for sending SMS notifications; our website hosting and lead-routing systems, to store and process platform data securely; and Google Workspace, for our own business email and file storage. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
4. No Payment Data Is Ever Collected
Because Brisbane Handyman Services never charges tradies for leads and never processes payment between homeowners and tradies, we do not collect or store any payment card or bank account information. No transaction of any kind is processed on this platform.
5. Data Retention
We retain homeowner and tradie information for up to 12 months, for auditing, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. After that period, data is anonymised or deleted.
6. Data Security
- SSL encryption across the site
- Internal access to personal information restricted to what's needed to run the platform
- Periodic review of our security practices
7. Cookies & Analytics
We use basic cookies for site performance and anonymous analytics. We do not run cross-site advertising trackers.
8. Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and unsubscribe from SMS or email at any time. If you believe your privacy rights have been breached and we haven't resolved it to your satisfaction, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our operations or the law changes. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the current version.
